DIONNE WARWICK releases her BEST OF album on January 25

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 25, 2005) – Paving the way for today’s female R&B greats, Dionne Warwick will release her COLLECTOR’S SERIES: THE BEST OF DIONNE WARWICK album, including singles such as “Walk On By,” “I Say A Little Prayer,” and “Do You Know The Way to San Jose?” on January 25 with the Intersound Label of Compendia Music Group.

With the release date set on January 25, 2005, COLLECTOR’S SERIES: THE BEST OF DIONNE WARWICK features an outstanding collection of 11 re-recorded tracks of some of her classics, all with better quality and sound coupled with modern recording techniques. Dionne Warwick forever changed the history of music in the 1960’s with her sophisticated vocals and revolutionary brand of pop and R&B music. THE BEST OF DIONNE WARWICK is the ultimate Dionne Warwick collection, celebrating Warwick’s musical legacy with eleven of her most well known songs.

Dionne Warwick received her first Grammy Award in 1968 for the classic “Do You Know The Way To San Jose?,” becoming the first African-American solo female artist of her generation to win the prestigious award for Best Contemporary Female Vocal Performance. This award has only been awarded to one other female African-American legend, Ella Fitzgerald.

Warwick has had two #1 singles, 12 Top 10 hits, and 31 Top 40 singles, including the signature songs “Walk On By,” “I Say A Little Prayer,” and “Do You Know The Way To San Jose?” In the 1980s alone, Dionne Warwick scored seven Top 40 singles.

Overall, Dionne Warwick has been awarded one Platinum album, five Gold albums (including 1985’s Friends) and five Grammy Awards. Dionne has also recently been the subject of a biography special on A&E cable network and has made several appearances on the QVC network.
