Graham Brown Re-Signs with Intersound Records
Country music innovator releases new studio album,
THE NEXT RIGHT THING, on May 20th
NASHVILLE,
TN - (April 7th, 2003) - Soulful country music innovator T. Graham
Brown - whose 21 charted songs have netted 11 top-ten country hits
- has re-signed with Intersound Records, one of the four labels contained
within the Compendia Music Group, for his new studio album. Michael
Olsen, president of Compendia Music Group, made the announcement today.
Brown's upcoming project, THE NEXT RIGHT THING - a sometimes raucous,
sometimes thoughtful blend of traditional country and blues featuring
guest vocals from George Jones, Michael McDonald and Bonnie Bramlett
- is scheduled for a May 20 release on the Intersound label in the
United States and Canada, with the first single and video to be released
in April. Brown's prior release on Intersound, 1998's complex, tuneful
WINE INTO WATER, was heralded by critics and fans alike as one of
the strongest of his career.
"I am excited that my new album will be released by Intersound,"
said Brown. "I've had a long-time working relationship - as well
as friendship - with George Collier, the man who brought this project
to the label. We've had fun and great success together, from my early
years at Capitol Records to my WINE INTO WATER album a few years back
. . . We hope to repeat that success with THE NEXT RIGHT THING."
Described on the CMT.com website as "as much a southern R&B
singer as a country singer-songwriter," T. Graham Brown rose
to fame in the country music world alongside such respected contemporaries
as Vince Gill, Marty Stuart, Steve Earle, Alan Jackson and Randy Travis.
His first two number one singles - "Hell and High Water"
and "Don't Go to Strangers" - quickly established Brown
as a distinctive singer and songwriter, and his high-energy live performances
made him a "must-see" concert for country music fans. "Wine
Into Water," a haunting song that dealt frankly with Brown's
struggles with addiction, only strengthened his strong reputation
with critics and fellow country artists, and ensured T. Graham Brown's
place in the hearts of true country music fans.
