The 18th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards Star Line-Up Includes the Mighty Clouds of Joy and Christopher Lewis.
Youthful Praise has TWO nominations!!

NASHVILLE, TN – (January 8, 2003) Light Records award-winning artists shine for the 18th Annual Stellar Musical Awards! Youthful Praise was nominated for two categories and the legendary Mighty Clouds of Joy and singer/songwriter Christopher Lewis, on Light Records are scheduled to perform two shows. The Clouds and Lewis will perform two nights – Thursday, January 9, 2003 for the pre-show with a host of guests from the recording industry and the television and radio industry. To kick-off the actual taping of the Stellar Awards Show the Clouds and Lewis will perform at the post-show before a multitude of artists and guests, Saturday, January 11, 2003 at the Atlanta Civic Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Over several decades, the Clouds have been nominated for ten Grammy Awards winning three of them. The Clouds have shared the stage with the likes of Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, the Rolling Stones, Gene Autry, Patti Labelle, Smokey Robinson, Luther Vandross, Ray Charles, B.B. King, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Richard Pryor, Natalie Cole, the Temptations, Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon whom they backed for a month at New York’s Madison Square Garden, to name a few. Plus, their new album release “I Want To Thank You” is steady blowing up the radio airwaves across the states.

Christopher’s release of his debut album LIFE on Light Records, presents his urban influenced style to today’s youth. Gospelcity.com says, “Christopher rises above the norm of mediocrity to fashion something new, yet familiar.”

Lewis’, whose unique sound has been compared to mainstream singer/producer Babyface, avoids using adjectives like R&B, pop or gospel to describe his music. Instead he states, “My music is real. It speaks to everyday people about everyday situations.”

The Stellar Awards was founded in 1970 by Don Jackson who is the executive producer, Barbara Wilson is the producer and the director is Chuck Vinson for Central City Productions. Chicago-based Central City Productions is a distributor of original programming to television and cable networks. The 18th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards will air in national syndication over broadcast cable and PAX-NET stations January 18, 2003 through February 16, 2003.
