The "Light" Is Back On With A Golden Future
Light Records introduces Gospel music’s best!

NASHVILLE, TN – (January 2, 2003) The music industry and beyond are already ‘buzzing’ about the release of Light Records Classic Gold Series --- a multi-faceted collection of true legends in gospel music. Actor, Minister and Singer Clifton Davis explains, “A part of my fundamental gospel foundation is Walter Hawkins, Tramaine Hawkins…of course Andrae Crouch.” They represent just a portion of the many who are in the Light Records Classic Gold Series releases, starting January 28, 2003.

In addition, award-winning artist of Anointed, Steve Crawford states, “This IS Light …I dreamt about being on this label as a child because Light was THE’ label…it was prominent because of the Hawkins, Winans, Commissioned, Crouch, …all of them and more are the reason I can do what I do. The recordings…the foundation…the true lineage and legacy of depth in gospel music. You cannot have a true gospel background or library without them.”

Light Records recognizes the trailblazers of gospel music and those whose music continues to impact us today. “Light has a history of being the beginning of contemporary gospel with some of the genre’s greatest names. That is the mantle we want to carry…the commitment to great music,” states Light Records VP Phil White.

That commitment to great music continues with a new level of excellence. To enhance and preserve the quality of the original performances Light Records has commissioned nationally recognized mastering engineer Glenn Meadows to re-master these timeless recordings. Glenn has mastered recordings by many artists including Yolanda Adams, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, Fred Hammond and Radical for Christ, Amy Grant, Richard Smallwood, Michael W. Smith and Shania Twain.

Glenn started in the recording business in the early 70’s at Atlanta’s Sound Pit - that era’s state-of-the-art studio. It was there that he learned the craft of Mastering which has become his signature contribution to the music industry.

Light Records (a division of Compendia Media Group) continues to build on its legacy with the latest releases from award-winning legends the Mighty Clouds of Joy as well as new artists Christopher Lewis and Vanessa Williams with many more artists to come.
